Michael Kaszkur Social Worker, Psychotherapist
My main focus is to offer support to those facing significant life challenges. These situations can be mentally and emotionally overwhelming, but I believe that with good support, people can not only overcome these obstacles but also emerge stronger. Life’s toughest moments often hold the potential for meaningful change and resilience-building. If you’re working through something difficult, remember that you don’t have to face it alone.
Together, we’ll work to alleviate difficult emotions, gain new insights, develop effective coping strategies, and reclaim a sense of control, all while identifying clear next steps to help you move forward. I draw from a blend of knowledge and evidence-based practices that are clinically proven to be effective.
I believe great progress happens when there’s a strong connection between therapist and client. If you feel that my experience and approach might be a good fit for your needs, please don’t hesitate to schedule a free consultation.

I believe that the therapeutic process is not a destination, but an ongoing journey of self-discovery and growth. As a Registered Social Worker and MSW placement student from Laurier University, I provide a safe and supportive space in which clients can process their experiences and emotions in a non-judgemental environment.
My therapy approach is strengths-based and trauma-informed, recognizing that each person’s experiences uniquely shape their behaviour. By helping to identify and understand these patterns, I empower my clients to explore their inner world, trust their instincts, and make meaningful changes in their lives.
My holistic and empathetic approach will support you in your process of empowerment and personal strength. I will ensure that your unique experiences and abilities are honoured as we work together toward healing and growth. Please book a free consultation to find out more about how I can help you.

Social Worker
I am a Registered Social Worker with a passion for helping people during times of change and growth, as well as during the difficulties of illness, grief or trauma. I work from a relational perspective and have developed a keen interest in supporting people by weaving together tools of therapy with a very person-to-person approach to healing and growing.
My training and life experience has prepared me to uniquely support those who are navigating major life changes and transitions such as: new baby, quarter or mid-life crisis, relationships, empty nest, existential exploration as well as those moving through illness, grief or bereavement. These skills, experiences and further professional training also help me work with those who may have experienced trauma, specifically: healthcare trauma, birth and reproductive trauma, or attachment related trauma. I have specific training and experience to support parents and caregivers of kids with medical, physical, developmental, or neurodiversity needs (including giftedness) by providing knowledge and understanding of child development and the challenges of coping with unique parenting situations. I enjoy working with other therapists, healthcare professionals and teachers and can provide an understanding of the complexity of these work environments and life balance.
My approach is to see people for who they are; that we all have the capacity within us to heal and grow, while also acknowledging all of the life, social, and cultural factors that affect our sense of balance and wellbeing. I aim to hold space that is accepting of individual identities and needs throughout the therapeutic process and my hope for everyone is for us to work together to find the root of and heal past hurts, grow through challenges, and find peace and joy moving forward with resilience and courage to face life as it comes.
I often work from the following practices: Attachment Based Therapy, Integrative Trauma Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Arts Based Therapies, Therapeutic Play, Neurodiversity-Informed Mindfulness.

Welcome, taking the first step in starting therapy is a courageous act as part of your path to wellness. During our time together we will move at a pace that feels right for you and work together towards building a trusting relationship to address the concerns that bring you to therapy.
I am a Registered Social Worker who works with adults who have experienced trauma, PTSD, and occupational stress injury. I have experience working with trauma exposed professionals such as: first responders, public safety personnel, military members, veterans, and healthcare professionals.
I also work with individuals who have experienced mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, addiction, major life transitions, grief, and traumatic bereavement.
My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, respect and a genuine desire to build your inner strength in navigating life’s challenges. Trauma can leave people feeling overwhelmed, disconnected and unsure of where to turn. With my background in trauma informed care, I strive to create a safer space where we can engage in curiosity about your thoughts, emotions, and experiences to gain insight into your challenges and strengths. I will support you to connect with your inner resources, build understanding of the messages your emotions are sending, and find healthier ways to cope. In our sessions you can expect a collaborative process where my goal is to provide skills that honour your growth and healing, while working towards your goals on the way to building a life in which you can thrive.
I invite you to book a free consultation where we can discuss your needs and ensure we are a good fit.

My primary area of focus is trauma, specifically, supporting those who have experienced and are healing from traumatic events or who have been diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Although I hold a special interest in supporting those recovering from trauma, I also have experience supporting those managing anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, grief, as well as those experiencing significant life stressors.
Reaching out and beginning therapy can be hard. I hope to meet you where you are at, help to create a warm, inviting and emotionally safe space where we can both begin to understand what’s going on. We will begin to support you in uncovering thoughts and emotions that may have you feeling “stuck”, reflect back patterns and offer differing perspectives that may support you in decisions that will move you towards growth and change.
While everyone faces challenges, how we navigate through these can be important in strengthening our relationship with ourselves and others.
I have recently welcomed playful and gentle Benny to my therapy practice! Benny is a hypoallergenic miniature cockapoo who is growing, learning and training to be a certified therapy animal.
